Spend New Year's Eve with Little Richard at the Peach Drop

Ringing in the New Year is as much a part of American tradition and culture as rock and roll. So what could be better than combining these two into one huge New Year's Eve bash? Well, Underground Atlanta has done just that. By bringing in the "architect of rock and roll" himself, Little Richard and other amazing musical acts and putting them in the middle of the Southeast's largest New Year's Eve event, the 14th annual Peach Drop has all the ingredients for being the time of your life.

Underground Atlanta's Peach Drop is rapidly becoming one of the great Southern traditions; a 16-hour celebration filled with food, music, and activities all culminating in the infamous finale, the descent of the "Big Peach" on a 138-foot lighted tower followed by an eruption of music and fireworks exploding into the Atlanta skyline.

Set to perform this year on the main stage is Little Richard, The Today Show's Music Icon Contest Winner Dan Gardner, pop-rock act Ingram Hill from Tennessee, renowned vocalist Francine Reed (known best for her collaborations with Lyle Lovett and Willie Nelson) and Atlanta party outfit Power Play Band. Entertainment on the side stage on Lower Alabama will include the CAU Ensemble, Delores Major and Hope Israel.

The fun begins at noon with activities for the entire family.Arts and crafts, face painting and the basketball throw are just some of the fun activities planned on Lower Pryor Street at Underground Atlanta. For the enjoyment and safety of all patrons, please no pets, bags, backpacks, coolers, picnic baskets, recording devices, roller blades, bikes, lawn chairs, cameras, weapons or alcoholic beverages may be brought into Underground Atlanta. Call 404-523-2311 or visit www.peachdrop.com for updated information on musical talent, a full schedule of daytime family activities, and much more.
