The American Legion Post 105 in Fayetteville recently recognized 14
Fayette county students who received and accepted appointments to four
of the nation's service academies.
Fayette county produces more service academies appointees than any other
county in the nation. Seven will be reporting to the Air Force Academy,
four to the Military Academy, two to the Naval Academy and one to the
Merchant Marine Academy.
Appointees include Robert Collins, Tyler Freeman, Daniel Owens, Darcy
O'Connor, Carey Owens, Kristina Clark, Christopher Calle, Ryan Sullivan,
Andrew Collins, Kirk Palan, Jr., Mark Pendergrass, Jay Page, Robert Jones
and Austin Bergstrom.
