Paul Clifton Ashley, 83, Fayetteville, died Dec. 5, 2004. He was born May 13, 1921 in Union City, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 55 years, Martha Ashley. He was in the United States Army in World War II, serving in the Philippines, Okinawa and the Pacific theatre as a gunner with the First Mortar Battalion. He was awarded the Purple Heart and four Bronze stars. He was associated with Warner Lambert Company for 42 years. He moved to Fayetteville four years ago and was a member of Fayette Presbyterian Church. Memorial services were at Fayette Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Garett Hoffman and the Rev. Robert Sparks officiating. Ashes were interred at Arlington Cemetery crypts. Survivors include his wife, Joan Graden Ashley, Fayetteville; children Dr. Ronald Ashley, San Raphael, Calif., Lynn Ashley Henderson, Cartersville, Gail Ashley Backman, Atlanta, and Janet Ashley, Roswell; grandchildren, Jamie Henderson, David Ashley, Ryan Ashley, and Ariella Backman; a sister, May Ashley French, Tennessee; and a stepdaughter, Stacy Gray Perritt, and granddaughter, Jessica, of Waycross, Ga. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, or Fayette Memorial Garden, Fayette Presbyterian Church.
Tiffany Kay Haugli
Tiffany Kay Haugli, 26, Peachtree City, formerly of Menomonie, Wis., died Dec. 12, 2004. She was born May 19, 1978 in Wisconsin. She was a 2000 graduate of Purdue University, where she was a 4-year member of the varsity Crew Team. She was an electrical engineer with Panasonic for the past two years. Services were at Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn. Survivors include her parents, Orrin A. and July L. Haugli, Menomonie, Wis.; a sister, Lucretia Lynn Haugli, Chicago, Ill; and grandparents, Catherine Anna Hustad, Cumberland, Wis., and Donald A. and Lucretia Bolle, Menomonie, Wis. Robert Perrin McLendon
Robert Perrin “Perry” McLendon, 80, Fayetteville, died Dec. 14, 2004. He was born Oct. 31, 1924 in Fulton County. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Bill Priester officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Emmett F. White, 72, Fayetteville, died Dec. 14, 2004. He was born Oct. 24, 1932 in Buchanan. He was retired from Ford Motor Company, Atlanta, after 38 years. Willie B. Coggins
Willie B. “Buddy” Coggins, 84, Fayetteville, Inman community, died Dec. 17, 2004. He was born July 3, 1920 in Pike County, Ga. He was preceded in death by three children. He was affectionately known as the “Mayor of Inman.” A 33-year employee of the Atlanta Army Depot, now Fort Gillem, he enjoyed his flowers and puttering with lawn mowers. Services were at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Belinda McCastle officiating. Interment was at New Hope United Methodist Church cemetery, Inman. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Georgia B.
