CFA cow kicks off reading campaignsNot only is the Chick-fil-A cow, Eat, encouraging people to eat more chicken, nowadays he is also getting Fayettes students excited about reading. Eat has been making his rounds to schools around the county to help them kickoff their yearlong reading campaigns. A larger than life size Chick-fil-A cow from the Rock Ranch accompanied Kathy Hughes of Towne Center Chick-fil-A to Sara Harp Minter Elementary, Cleveland Elementary and Rising Starr Middle schools last week to greet students and parents. Len Patton, principal of Rising Starr, quickly made friends with Eat and climbed on his back to read Click, Clack, Moo to students during the schools reading promotion titled PAWS for Reading. Hughes had worked with reading teacher Sandra Barge and media specialist Becky Warren to arrange Eats visit. I had so much fun watching this fantastic staff make reading exciting for the middle schoolers, said Hughes. Hughes added that she commends all of Fayettes schools for initiating unique and fun themes and activities to help get kids excited about reading. These teachers and administrators deserve a pat on the back for doing such a great job. I had a blast visiting the schools and seeing the students enthusiasm and excitement, she said. |
