The thing that makes Faith Bible Church different than so many others, said the Rev. John Crotts, is that it is totally God-centered. We have underlying pre-suppositions that make all the difference, he said. God is put above all. It is so much better to study the Bible and see what God wants, and not do what the world wants. The Faith Bible Church, originally the Friendship Bible Church, began in 1988. They met for a number of years at the Peachtree City Elementary School, and currently meet at Immanuel Bible College. The congregation supports two missionaries in the Ukraine and one in Croatia. It also is active in supporting The National Association for Nouthetic Counselors. The word nouthetic is Greek for admonish. This organization trains people in the study of the Bible so they may help people through troubled times by studying what God has advised doing in that situation. The congregation enjoys a membership of just over 100 persons. Crotts has been with Faith Bible for four and a half years. He was born and reared in Virginia Beach, Va. and first felt pulled into the ministry during his senior year in high school. He is a graduate of Liberty University in Virginia with a B.S. in pastoral ministry. He worked a year while his wife finished at Liberty and then they headed to Los Angeles. The Rev. Crotts entered The Master Seminary there and graduated in May 1995 with a master's in divinity. He heard about the position open in Peachtree City and arrived shortly thereafter. He is married to Lynn, and they are the parents of Charissa, 3, and Danielle, nine months. The church meets at Immanuel Bible College, 195 Fischer Rd., Sharpsburg. Sunday School is at 9:15 a.m, worship service is at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday evenings there is adult study at 6:45 p.m., a separate study for youth and AWANA meets also at 6:45 p.m. Crotts can be reached at 770-631-9283.
