Briefs `Born Again Bargains' now open in Fairburn Southwest Christian Hospice's Born Again Bargains store, which had its grand reopening last August, continues to offer used items at bargain prices with proceeds going to a hospice projects and expenses. The store is in Hudson Plaza on U.S. Hwy. 29 in Fairburn. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays. Southwest Christian Hospice, located on Lester Rd. in Union City, is a nonprofit ministry providing quality hospice health care at no cost to patients or their families. Nativity Episcopal plans Advent services The Episcopal Church of the Nativity plans a reflective communion service on Saturday evenings during Advent, beginning Saturday, Nov. 27. The service begins at 5 p.m.. Holiday shoppers who are spiritually hungry may find in this contemplative Anglican service "food for the Christmas spirit." The new Hadassah group plans Chanukah party The Greater Atlanta Hadassah group is planning a Chanukah party and gift exchange on Sunday, Dec. 12 from 3-5 p.m at the Fayette Family YMCAin Fayetteville. Bethany church offices closed Nov. 25 Bethany UMC's church office will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25, in observance of Thanksgiving. There will be no evening activities on Sunday. Fayetteville Christian presents Christmas Musical The Fayetteville Christian Adult Choir will present Come Let Us Adore Him, a Christmas Musical on Sunday, Dec. 12 at 10:30 a.m. Fayetteville Christian is on the corner of New Hope and Hickory roads. River's Edge presents `Scrooge' Dec. 9-11 River's Edge Community Church will present its fourth annual performance of `Scrooge...A Christmas Miracle' on Dec. 9-11 Jesse McCorvey will once again portray Scrooge. This years's performance features a new format with new sets and new scenes for a different twist on the Charles Dickens' classic. Tickets are $2 and are available in the church foyer and before and after each worship service. This is a dessert theater. Zion Lutheran offers Parents' Night Out Parent volunteers of Zion Lutheran Church in Newnan will offer a Parents' Night Out on Saturday, Dec. 11 with two shifts to choose from. Parents may choose to leave their children from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., or from 1-4 p.m. from 6-11 p.m., giving adults the opportunity to have some time for themselves while their children participate in age-appropriate activities and games. Snacks will be available for the children. Registration is required one week in advance and there is a fee of $5 per family to cover the cost of snacks. In January, Parents' Night Out will be offered on Friday, Jan. 14 at a new time6:30-10:30 p.m. The church is at 53 Country Club Rd. in Newnan. Covenant hosts Thursday Bible study groups All women of the church at Covenant Presbyterian are invited to attend Thursday morning Bible study from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Senior citizen singers at Fayettveille 1st Baptist Fayetteville First Baptist Church is seeking members for its Senior Adult Choir, the Senior Singers. Saturday evening services at Inman UMC Inman United Methodist Church is offering come-as-you-are Saturday evening prayer and praise services the fourth Saturday of each month at 5 p.m. Services are held in the sanctuary. March for Jesus 2000 date announced Global officials have announced the date of the next March for Jesus. It has been set for June 10, 2000, according to John Hatcher, 1999 local march coordinator. River's Edge children will present `Wee Three Kings' The children's Always Ready for Prime Time Players at River's Edge Community church will present their Christmas production. `Wee Three Kings' on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. A special rehearsal is planned for Saturday, Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. until noon. It is critical that all children and staff be at River's Edge for the rehearsals. Inman UMC offers Wednesday dinners Inman United Methodist Church invites members and guests to attend Wonderful Wednesdays for family style meals and fellowship at the church each Wednesday beginning at 5:30 p.m. Meals are served until 7 p.m. Permanent reservations may be made by calling the church, or those wishing to participate may sign up each week before noon on Tuesday. The cost is $4 for adults 12 and up and $2.25 for children under age 12. The maximum family cost is $15. Special children's menus are available for those who request it in advance.
