umemployment rate tops the charts Fayette County has the lowest unemployment rate in the Atlanta region, according to statistics just released by the Department of Labor. Fayette County's rate of 1.8 percent for October is just a bit lower than Forsyth County's 1.9 percent. In September, the county's rate stood at 1.9 percent. Last October, Fayette's rate stood at 2.2 percent. Labor officials said the rate declined because of preliminary hiring in retail trade and services for the upcoming holiday season. Other rates included: Clayton-3.4 percent. Fulton-3.6 percent. Henry-2.3 percent. Rockdale-2.4 percent. |
