Government meetings change for holidays

Meeting schedules will change for Fayette County governments in December, due to the holidays.

The Fayette County Commission has cancelled its regular fourth Thursday meeting, leaving today's work session at 3:30 p.m. and the second Thursday meeting, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.

The Board of Education has moved its regular meeting from the third Monday to the second, meeting Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m.

Fayette's Planning Commission will have its regular meeting Dec. 2 at 7 p.m., but there will be no third Thursday work session. A work session on a proposed tree protection ordinance is scheduled tomorrow immediately following the regular meeting.

City Council of Peachtree City meets first and third Thursdays and that schedule won't change for December. The city's Planning Commission will meet Dec. 13. The fate of its Dec. 27 meeting is to be announced.

Tyrone Town Council also meets first and third Thursdays and has announced no change. The town Planning Commission meets fourth Thursdays and has not announced a change.

Brooks Town Council has cancelled its Dec. 20 meeting, but will meet Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. as scheduled.
