The first response from Obama was cold and calculating. He jumped upon his rainbow colored Unicorn, grabbed his ferry dust and sprang forth with his "citizens of the World" comments, which I like to think of as "Rodney King Part II", e.g. "Can't we all just get along?"

With all of the news about the Rock Star and his European tour, I thought it was a funny comparison, but no, Obama called it nasty.

I consistently believe that when it comes to whether it's Native Americans or African-American issues or reparations, the most important thing for the U.S. government to do is not just offer words, but offer deeds."

He is going to make sure that this guy or gal is vetted.

I never understood the wisdom of the Super Delegates. I read that it had something to do with having another repeat of the election in 68 or 72. You know having a nominee that is unelectable.

Well, the polling would show that the Democrats harbor more racists that Republicans.

This makes, of course, a few assumptions, such as Obama and Hillary are in almost all other regards, the same, and that Republicans will likely vote McCain and Democrats Obama or Hillary. (The middle third of our electorate will cast their own vote either way.)

I didn't get politically aware myself until I'd say in the late 60's, early 70's.

I've had the pleasure of serving on a Criminal Trial in Fulton County, when I lived there in 84, and been called 3 times since, never to be picked again.

A Barack Obama delegate to the Democratic National Convention was "ticketed for calling her neighbor's African-American children 'monkeys,' " reports the Chicago Sun-Times. (We didn't realize this was against the law, but the Chicago Tribune explains that the charge was disorderly conduct.) Here is what happened, according to the Sun-Times:

I make no pretense, that I don't like John McCain for many of the things that he does, including his closeness with the Democrats, like John Kerry,--who this morning slammed his good friend McCain on Meet the Press.
