All WWII Veterans are invited to the January regular monthly meeting of VFW Post 9949. Before our business meeting starts, Gail Sparrow of honorflightfayette will provide the latest status on the free day flights being offered to WWII Veterans to visit the National World War II Memorial in Washington, DC. She will answer your individual questions and have application blanks for those WWII Vets who want to register to go on a flight. WWII Vets who served overseas earned eligibility to join America's oldest veterans organization, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and are welcome to stay for our monthly meeting items and discuss joining our Post- No you are not to old to join and participate. The oldest and proudest member we have recruited joined one day short of his 93rd birthday.

On Saturday February 2, 2008 from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM members of Peachtree City VFW Post 9949 will be at the doors of the Kroger store in Kedron village. We will be recruiting new members to join our Post and transferring VFW members who have moved into this area. Veterans are eligible to join America's oldest Veterans organization if you served overseas under hazardous conditions and are currently serving or are an honorably discharged citizen. We will also be collecting donations for Honor Flight Fayette(HFF). This newly established group has the noble purpose to fly for free all WWII Vets on a day trip to see the National WWII Memorial in Washington, DC. Donations are tax deductible and those of $35.00 or more permit you to honor a Veteran. For more information on this new organization call 770-719-1042 or go to www.honorflightfayette.org
