Friends Helping Friends
A local motorcycle club and a local bar are teaming up to help friends in need. The BBMC and the Twilight Bar and Grill in Newnan are joining forces to help friends in need. They are having the first annual Friends for Life golf tournament, raffle and motorcycle ride to raise money for friends that are in need or for local charities. This is a great way for us to give back to friends that need us. The golf tournament will be on Saturday, September 06, 2008 and the raffle will be at the Twilight Bar and Grill on Saturday night along with The Jason Coley Band. The $5.00 cover charge will go to the benefit. The motorcycle ride will be on Sunday, September 07, 2008. The ride will leave The Twilight at 12:00 and ride to Warm Springs. Coinciding with the historic 2008 Presidential election, Dr. Seuss throws his “hat” into the ring by releasing the first-ever political print editions to the public. Featuring imagery from politically charged artworks, books and editorial cartoons, the Dr. Seuss for President art exhibition offers an unusual glimpse into the sociopolitical-minded imagination from the world’s most celebrated icon of popular culture. The exhibition will be featured at Ann Jackson Gallery located in Roswell beginning Friday, September 19th and will run through the November election.

The Starr's Mill High School Band is hosting the Third Annual Fayette County Marching Band Exhibition on September 20th at Starr's Mill High School stadium. The public is invited to attend and preview five fabulous competition shows as the Fayette County school system's marching bands kick off the marching band competition season. The gates will open at 4:30pm. A combined band of Fayette County school system 8th grade band students will open the event with the National Anthem at 5:30pm. McIntosh High will lead off the performances beginning at 6:00pm and hosts Starr's Mill will end the evening with their performance at 7:20pm. Admission price is $3 at the gate.
