Something happened a few years ago that I will never forget.
I picked up my mail one afternoon, came inside, open all of it, then noticed I had opened a bank statment (same bank we use), but it was not our account. Postal driver left someone else's in our mail. The address was just around the corner, so being a "good neighbor" I took it to them, explained what happened, and the Man began yelling at me, accused me of stealing his mail, etc... I explained to him the mistake again, problems with idendity theft, but he "ordered" me off his property, needless to say, I have never returned another piece of mail, which I have gotten theirs since then, but will let the post office deal with this crazy man. Makes some people wonder, am I doing the right thing or not...

Born and bred in LA - attended LA High is the late '50's. The '50s was truly a different era. Lived for over 30 years in Altadena, CA - (just north of Pasadena) - I think what I mean is only in Georgia in 2008!! I just get tired of hearing all of the 'rotten' things that citizens do - and wanted to share something 'nice'.

Nice to see some west coaster's here in Fayette County. I was also born in CA (Pomona/Orange County) and lived in Whittier and also the Bay area (Walnut Creek), back in the late 50's and all through the turbulent 60's.

I have always loved music- well you have seen just a little of my taste, always voted Rep. except once, and I would give a million dollars to have my vote back from Him. He lost anyway. What you do at the age of 18???? You see I am Rep. but if I find a President George W. Bush in the Dem. party then I will vote for him or her, I assure you at this moment it's not a her. Plus does being a Dem. make you act like Dollar, he talks to himself, is angry with everyone, who does he like? Be easy on me, we met, and I think you are a nice guy even if we vote different. and I like you:) To be quiet honest I think I am the only Rep. on here. But, then again, I haven't read enough except for those that want to let me know how they feel. Honestly, at this moment there are now 3 I am looking at to vote, I have not made my decesion, have you? Surprised you with my taste in music huh- hey my husband made me like this- I"m kidding- he likes pretty much the same. He;s big on Elton.I like Elton also- which $ questioned- hey I can like their music, their lifestyle is their business.

I certainly do not talk to myself. and I certainly am not angry with everyone, and I am an executive in the local Democratic Party. All I am doing is giving the voters an alternative...something to think about. Would I love to have all our platform enacted into policy? sure, who wouldn't. To Be part of the process and not shut out merely because I think differently...that is what I am after. I believe that the voters are being shut out of the process, be it by apathy or by being anesthetized to death (witness the 11.1% turnout in the last special election). Oh, I can hear the arguments now..."if the people were interested they would vote!", "I would rather those people who cared make the decisions", etc. I do not see that as a repudiation of the Democratic Party by the voters of Fayette County. I see that as the governmental leaders indicating to the people that they would rather not have a great deal of public input in what the leaders do. Let's really hear what the "natives" want in terms of growth (or control there of). Do you truly think that the Republican Party in Fayette County has offered the citizens a real alternative to their view of growth?

And I will leave you (for now) with this thought. In Communist Russia, in their "free" elections, a voter could choose from any number of candidates for every political office. The kicker was that all candidates were members of the Communist Party. Keep the faith.

I was kidding, I was talking about $, it's a joke, please forgive- I kid around alot- you have to know me. When I say talk to yourself, in his responses to himself- this guy is a sad case-honestly I was not speaking of you. Forgive me if it offended you. I did not write it to be that way. $ likes to give me a hard time about Bush, that's why I wrote it- I should have written it better or to just him.

As a matter of fact I do listen to both parties- just because I am regesitered Rep. does not mean I don't give room to listen to what the other party has to say.

Alot vote because they have been Rep. or Dem. all their life, in my case that is not me, I take my voting serious and think it out a long time before my decesion is met. I leave in peace. Please understand.

My Dad use to be Rep. changed to Dem., my sister the same and brother- at the moment this is how I see things- I differ with them, they still love me.

I know you care about your views and so do I, but remember don't take me too serious, I work around small kids, love to kid with one another for fun not to be mean or nasty- I guess I try and do this- some things are hard in my life at the moment- My Mom and Sister both passed about 2 years ago- it's very hard on me. Moments unbearable- that's why I believe in God and try to have a positive attitude- life is hard.

having been a teacher for 30 years, I have developed a fairly thick skin. By the same token, I took alot of flax for 30 years in what I taught, the way I taught it, etc. I have reached that point in life where I want to make sure that people just think about what they are saying. I don't mind what people think of me as a person, but I hope that they take the time (as you have) to understand what and who I am...not just dismissing me and what I say because I am not of a particular group. Keep the faith.

My husband's dad was a school teacher, 7th and 8th grade, I do know at that age he had to do alot more displine than I do and they did not understand but later in life they came back and thanked him for it. He was was also a Pastor of a church.

My calling is to be with small one and sometimes being like them ,I wanted to be but couldn't because of being shy as a child. Life is fun for them, learning is fun for them- it's therapy for my soul- honestly- they are my heart and I love what I do and I love them. I do want to make a difference in their life and have a influence on them- their age you have to be tender with them and careful with displine, but with a load of love mixed in it.

I know both you and my father-in-law cared but it's a different approach with older ones.

I do admire you teaching 12th grade, I could never do that. You are probably like my father- in-law, he loved it. He is no longer with us, developed cancer at the age of 68, 2 months later passed, I miss him dearly.

I do agree that people sometimes don't take voting serious, and don't even take the time to deceide on their choice- as I said before alot of my relatives vote different than me- share their opinions with me and I do the same- I am glad you understand.

I think your a nice person and would never want to be misunderstood with you. It was a pleasure to meet you and I hope to see you again.
