I am a little baffled as to why everyone has their undies in a bunch over a TAT shop! If you don't want ink don't go there. What is so hard about that? A Tattoo Shop is not going to bring the scurge of the State to your dorrstep, does the Package stores that are only in PTC bring them? I for one am the Mom of a United States Marines and another in the Navy. They both have ink as do I and plan more, why do you care what I put on my body? I do not run around in a little tennis skirt and show the world what I choose to have forever as a part of me (and no it is not a tramp stamp)!. I can't wait for this shop to open and I will be there with cash in hand a car load of Marines will follow upon returning home. Please people use this energy you are wasting being mean and nasty to do good somewhere (you might like it). This man and his brother are trying to make living just like you and me and they deserve to do so, this is the US is it not. Would you care if these men where going to open another Nail Shop? at least a Tat Shop has standards to keep and fresh ink and new needles for everyone not the same clipper and file you get at the nail place.And by the way there is a new massage palor in South Fayette by the new Publix where were you folks then.

What is wrong with a tattoo parlor? I know plenty of respectable people with tattoos. You're not the sort of person who would judge based on appearance are you?

I think you are overreacting. Let the market decide whether or not a tattoo parlor is a good or bad idea.

Market decisions made by oil companies, drug companies, hospitals, and so forth, aren't always the best for the consumer!

I don't think you can accurately compare a tattoo parlor to a big oil company or insurance company. Sure, we are paying $3 a gallon for gas while the oil companies rake in large profits, but as consumers we don't have much control over that. We have evolved into a society which is so dependent on petroleum that we cannot simply boycott oil companies when we think that gas is over priced. The same thing goes for prescription drugs and health care.

If I don't want a tattoo, I simply won't go. If enough people feel that way then the parlor will not be able to meet its financial obligations and it will close.

Well then, may I ask your opinion of these new business in PTC?

Those four elevated markings around the word massage are called quotation marks. I'm very aware that we have legitimate massage spas throughout the city, keyword being legitimate.

But I have no problems with a tattoo shop, if that floats your boat, I say go for it.

Not long ago the good citizens of PTC were all in arms about a Goodwill store -- so much so that they managed to stop its opening. It appears we are not nearly so averse to what was once considered a mark of lower class. Just another sign of the times!!

One, Goodwill, was going to be the anchor of a shopping center in the center of town. I've seen the way centers look that have Goodwill's in them. Plus, we were losing a pretty nice grocery store.

The Tattoo place will be in a very small spot more toward the end of the other center, and will hardly even be heard from, much be seen.

...albeit not the type of people PTC would like to recognize as members of their fair town. The Tattoo shop and Red Room are much more serviceable to the changing moral and ethical climate of the good folks in PTC and the country as a whole. By the way, did you see footage taken in the restroom at the Red Room on a recent episode of "Intervention"?

MCCAIN ON INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMACY

Intervention is an A&E show which documents the lives of drug addicts and the impact their addiction has upon their families and friends. This particular episode involved a brother and sister in their early twenties who were each fighting drug and alcohol abuse. The scene in the restroom was of a night of partying and graphically depicted drug use. There was an outside shot of the Red Room which was instantly recognizable and a reference to the brother living in a home in Hapeville. I was not able to ascertain which neighborhood they lived in from the footage, but the Red Room immediately placed the setting in PTC. Check it out sometime -- Season 4, Episode 24.

But I stand by my comment about what Goodwill would have done to the good business's of that center. From what I saw, ALL of the locally owned business's in that center came out strong against the Goodwill locating there, that's enough for me.

Just like Kohls and other big boxes, it's not too much to ask to drive to Newnan etc for these needs.

And no, I wouldn't even know where to look for the show "Intervention".

I've seen a few live bands in the Red Room though, and found it fine in those limited times I've been in there.
