Touch A Truck cancelled; gas prices blamedMon, 05/05/2008 - 1:35pm
By: The Citizen
A lack of entries has led Peachtree City officials to cancel the planned Touch A Truck children's event in Peachtree City that was planned for Saturday. Organizers said numerous companies canceled their vehicles attending the show, citing high fuel prices as the chief factor. Touch A Truck, a seven-year tradition, allowed children to climb aboard heavy equipment and sit in the driver's seat; it also gave a behind-the-scenes peak at other vehicles such as limosuines. The show was particularly popular with children from the toddler age through elementary school. Ashley Alonso, who recruited companies for the event, said she hated the city had to cancel Touch A Truck. login or register to post comments
