Five stores at The Avenue Peachtree City shopping center were closed temporarily this morning by the city's fire department so electrical repairs can be made, officials said. The stores were closed after fire crews investigated reports of a smoke smell in the area this morning, said Assistant Fire Chief Peki Prince. The stores closed were Yankee Candle, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor Loft, Gap and Victoria's Secret, officials said. "We did it purely as a safety precaution," Prince said. The action was taken to make sure the buildings are safe for the public, she added. login or register to post comments
