Once you get through the rhetoric, Obama is still a politician.
He has and will continue to change his stance on any issue that he can, that might help him in the campaign.

Which is why the Reverend Wright fiasco was so important.
It gave us a glimpse into his thought processes. He associates with extremely dangerous people then quickly back tracks and says I didn't know. He back tracked on Campaign finance as well. He vowed to run his Presidential campaign with public money, as McCain agreed to do.
That was a campaign trick to make everyone think he was a new breed, unbeholden to special interests, since he is only taking public money, but now, he has backed out of that deal. He likes the fact that he is getting swamped with money and now he will be nothing more or different than the Washington Insiders that he decries at every campaign stop.

John McCain has been keeping his promises so far on running an above board campaign. He rebuked the 527 that made light of Wright in N.C.. I just wonder how long that is going to last.

I don't like McCain, but the other day, I saw one of his speeches and was impressed. He seemed to have found a common and honest chord from which to speak to conservatives and moderates.
