Sarah Palin/BOB LENOX comparison?

Sarah Palin is a younger, prettier version of Bob Lenox!

In 1996, when Sarah Palin was elected mayor in Alaska, the town had no general indebtedness. The first thing she did was cozy up with developers. They concocted a plan build a massive hockey center complex....they argued the town would make a lot of money hosting tournaments and such. The hockey center would pay for itself...eventually.

Remind anyone of the Tennis Center?

She campaigned strongly for the hockey complex, and 8 percent of the town (shades of Peachtree City!!) turned out to approve the hockey center complex by a very thin 200 vote margin.

The town then overpaid for the land to build the complex (asking price: $170,000, actual sale price: $1 million plus), and the town build a $14 million dollar white elephant.

Taxes were raised about 20% and by the time Mayor Palin declared victory and went on to bigger things, the town was crippled with over $19 million dollars in bond debt.

I wouldn't go that far, but I'll tell you this: I've known a few lipstick pitbulls who were sports moms, and you would not want any of them to be president of anything.

Besides, last time I checked a pitbull is a breed that too often turns vicious and winds up hurting innocent people and getting itself shot by the cops....

No comparison sniffles. Hockey is tough, tennis is not

In fact, tennis is not even a sport. No contact, no blood, no real serious penalties.

Hockey certainly is a sport and it grows kids into adults who can be real estate developers and landscapers and sportscasters.

Tennis creates accountants and florists and caterers.

Maybe a generalization, but I'd rather be a hockey Mom than a tennis Mom.

Go Sarah - you are a winner!!!

So is Bob Lenox, without the sizzle.
