 <description>&lt;p&gt;Helen Marion Hogan Hill, 104, Tampa, died Nov. 9, 2009. She was born Nov. 5, 1905 in Fayette County. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Gayden and Nancy Matilda Horton Wilkins, and husbands, Alton P. Hogan, and George H. Hill. She learned to count by helping her mother pay workers for picking cotton on their farm. At 14 she was sent to Georgia State Normal School, Athens, a boarding school that soon became part of the University of Georgia. After World War II, she obtained a teacher&#039;s degree from Oglethorpe University, Atlanta.&lt;/p&gt;

Survivors include daughters, Melinda Robertson, and Leigh and Randy Boren, all of Fayetteville; a grandson, John Boren, Fayetteville; and a granddaughter, Ana Leigh Boren, Fayetteville.  <description>&lt;p&gt;James Early &quot;Bub&quot; Carden, 83, Woolsey, died Nov. 12, 2009. He was born Dec. 3, 1925 to George Otis and Aubra Gill Carden. He was preceded in death by brothers, Dan Carden, Don Carden, and Dave Carden, and a sister, Louise Fredrickson. He was one of 10 children and was not schooled past third grade in order to help on the family farm. When it came to ailing cars, cows, trucks or tractors, he had an uncanny knack for knowing just what to do to get them going again. He was a mechanic and cattleman by trade, a fun-loving family man, and  beloved pillar of his home community of Woolsey.&lt;/p&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Carlton Douglas Evans, 73, Peachtree City, died Nov. 2, 2009, after a long battle with Parkinson&#039;s disease. He was born Dec. 16, 1935 in Carroll County, son of the late William Linwood and Ruby Brock Evans. He was the first person in his family to graduate from college and was a member of the first graduating class of the Southern School of Pharmacy, now a part of Mercer University. He owned the Hapeville Drug Company and later the Village Pharmacy in Peachtree City, the last independent pharmacy in the town. If a person could not afford their medication, he would gladly accept home grown vegetables or nothing at all.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>The Rev. Wilson V. Williams</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The Rev. Wilson V. Williams, 92, Fayetteville, died Nov. 2, 2009. He was born Sept. 11, 1917 in Memphis, Tenn., and moved to Atlanta in 1939. He served in the United States Merchant Marine in World War II and was retired from Delta Airlines after 35 years of service in 1979. He completed his seminary training at Georgia State University and was pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Villa Rica from 1957 to 1960. He later served as pastor at Starr&#039;s Mill Baptist  Church and Antioch Baptist Church, both in Fayetteville, and also pastor of Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Union City. He was in the Lord&#039;s service for over 40 years. He was a gifted gardener and loved to grow and harvest vegetables with his wife for their friends and family.&lt;/p&gt;
