Coweta County’s role in the movie industry will continue in the coming weeks with shooting for “The Wettest County” scheduled from late February through April in southeast Coweta between Senoia and Sharpsburg, just southwest of Peachtree City.

The Coweta County Commission Tuesday night approved a request by Bootleg Movie, LLC to use an area on Elders Mill Road for the staging of vehicles and trailers.

Bootleg Movie location manager Andrew Ullman in a Jan. 31 letter noted that the film company would be shooting in and around Coweta from Feb. 28 through April 21. Ullman said the primary location for shooting would be in the area of Elders Mill Road.

The letter requested that the film company be able to park and stage vehicles, trailers and personal vehicles in the Walden Pond development on Walden Pond Trail and Concord Circle to accommodate the filming on Elders Mill Road.

The commission’s approval includes a temporary closure of those roads for the company to stage equipment at the locations.

On-site activity for filming will occur during daytime and nighttime hours, Ullman said.

Ullman in the letter also noted that the impact to the area should be almost nonexistent since there are no residents in the immediate area of the Walden Pond development where the filming will occur.
