The man who burglarized the Kroger pharmacy at 805 South Glynn Street in Fayetteville on June 8 surrendered to police after family members saw his photo in newsaccounts and suggested he turn himself in.

Justin Blake Moody, 21, of Fayetteville, voluntarily surrendered to Fayetteville investigators at noon on June 11, said Det. Mike Whitlow. Moody was charged with one count of burglary for breaking into the Kroger pharmacy at approximately 9 p.m. on June 8, Whitlow said.

Whitlow said Moody entered the ceiling through a vent in the men’s restroom and walked across to the pharmacy, eventually falling through the ceiling tiles.

“Moody attempted to take two bottles of a controlled substance but left the bottles behind when he was trying to leave the pharmacy,” Whitlow said.

Whitlow said Moody was encouraged by family members to surrender after his photograph appeared in the news the following Tuesday.

He turned himself in without incident and is currently in the Fayette County Jail, said Whitlow.
