A $57,000 project to replace failed storm drain pipe in the Beechwood subdivision off Lenox Road was approved by the Peachtree City Council Thursday night.

The problem has led to reoccurring non-structural flooding on two parcels, located at 208 and 210 Lenox Road, according to a memo to council from Stormwater Manager Mike Madison.

Only two companies bid on the project, with the winner being Construction 57 Inc. at a price of $57,025. The other bidder, Crawford Grading and Pipeline, came in at $64,910.

The project will be funded from the city’s stormwater utility, which bills property owners twice annually in order to fund maintenance and improvements for the city’s stormwater collection system.
