More than 25 members of the Peachtree City Rotary Club recently helped with the Christmas tree recycling project at Home Depot and Kroger.

Most of the trees were ground up into mulch, but some were taken to area lakes to provide nesting for fish.

While the recycling service was free for participants, $970 was raised for the Real Life Center through donations. The Real Life Center is a local non-profit organization that provides food and other resources to the needy.

In addition, Rotary Club members also handed out White Pine seedlings provided by the Southern Conservation Trust.
